And that is exactly what inspired Owambe Connect.

Why Owambe Connect?

Through our own experiences of planning celebrations, working with businesses and seeing the incredible talent within the events industry, one thing became clear: finding a vendor is one thing. But finding the right vendor? Someone who understands your culture, your traditions and those little details that shouldn’t always need explaining? That can be another.

And really, what’s a Nigerian party without jollof?

But it’s about much more than food.

It’s the photographer who understands the important cultural moments not to miss. The DJ who knows that song that will get everyone onto the dance floor. The venue that understands that your celebration may come with cultural requirements that aren’t always on the standard wedding checklist.

Those details matter.

And this isn’t unique to one culture. Across African, Caribbean, South Asian and many other communities in the UK, celebrations bring together traditions, generations and cultures in wonderfully different ways.

We wanted to make finding the people who understand that a little easier.
